Kitano Takeshi is one of my favourite directors, and I still recall some scenes from
A Scene at the Sea from time to time. How do people live for where/what they belong? There once was a boy who knew where he belongs to, and devolved himself fully into it then. I can't really spoil much of the plot as it is such a simple story to tell, but the way Takeshi filmed the deaf
protagonist and his deaf girlfriend is undoubtedly worth watching, which resonates to the original title "That Summer, the Silent Sea", illustrating the wordless love between the two, the protagonist and the sea, and all of the main casts. Joe Hisaishi's score is also one of my favourite soundtracks of all time, composed the 90s heartfelt nostalgia precisely.
I know I almost abandoned this blog (or did I?), as I never really intended to start one. But for now I want to share this here, though this doesn't mean anything haha.
